Egypt's coastline extends over nearly 2500 kilometers, with the Suez Canal linking the Mediterranean to the Red Sea.

As a matter of fact, Egypt has always extracted a sense of the poet in anyone remotely susceptible to its charisma. Its natural wonders, unique blend of ancient culture and modern growth, made tourism one of it's dominate asset.

Once a station on the path of the exodus made by Moses and the Israelites, and a refuge for the Holy Family, many scenes that took place in Egypt are described in the Bible. Egypt is also mentioned in the Holy Quran.

Egypt has witnessed many military battles throughout its long-standing history. Under the rule of powerful pharaohs Egypt rose to greatness as one of the four great ancient civilizations. Influenced by the Persians, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, Turks and British, Egypt has throughout its history been a leading contributor to the advancement of technological, scientific, and artistic endeavors, enriching the heritage of Western civilizations.
Egypt's formal independence was declared in 1922, while British control on Egypt ended after World War II.
